A POSTCARD FROM PADSTOW
(With some soggy bits and pieces...)

Dear all, hello!

The present Mrs Blogbrarian and I have been holidaying on the “Cornish Riviera” in lovely Padstow .We experienced lots of different types of weather: lashing gales, thunderous tornadoes and horizontal sleet. Still, mustn’t grumble…

Wildlife and celebrity reports:

Actually, it’s been quite jolly – we have seen lots of wildlife: puffins, otters, and (on our one sunny morning) a blackbird stole my toast – my, how I laughed! Lots of lovely fish, too. Still no sightings of Rick Stein, though…

Despite the fog, pea-sized hail, and a force- ten Atlantic maelstrom we actually managed to find John Betjeman’s gravestone (we certainly know how to have fun, eh?) which was rather fine.

Less good news, though – my pasties have become very soggy.

News, views, Eric and Ernie and Tom Cruise:

Anyway, I see that there’s been a fair bit going on while we’ve been away…Tom Cruise has made off, while poor Eric Sykes and Ernest Borgnine have departed. (By the by, did you know that Ernest Borgnine did voices for Spongebob Squarepants?)

Andy Murray blubbed...

Spain won the football, Fernando Torres actually scored some goals, and – entirely unrelated – a rain-sodden Britain has been invaded by Spanish slugs. Oh, and the Large Hadron Collider has been fired up, and shot out some Higgs Boson bits, apparently.

Do you still have hosepipe ban at home?

Apart from that, nothing out of the ordinary.

Right-ho…must dash…Galoshes need emptying again,

Hope all well,

Wish you were here.

Byeee!
